Aubrey Hord, a Maui Photographer, gets elite certification

Aubrey Hord, a photographer from Maui, becomes the very first woman in Hawaii to get the Certified Professional Photographer place from Professional Photographers of America. Among the two thousand photographers on the planet who have got certification from this organization – just 10 are in Hawaii, and that also includes Hord.

Aubrey, who works as a wedding, portrait as well as lifestyle photographer, is also the only women in Hawaii to be welcomed as an American Society of Media Photographers member, as per the declaration. Since the year 2009, she has been one of the primary photographers for Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Since 2011, she has also been a teaching artist at the Hui No?eau Visual Arts Center.

On her site, she described herself as “a 6′ woman trapped in a 5′ body with an 8′ personality.  Wearing pearls is a tribute to my southern heritage, and I refuse to apologize for wearing hot pink.”

She was accredited to photograph what would finish being the very last formal portrait of the late United States Senator Daniel K. Inouye. She has also taken photographs of several celebs and some A listers include Elton John, Bob Dylan, Santana, Aerosmith, Bruno Mars and John Legend.

Recently, in a press release, she told that these days, it is very easy to purchase a high-tech camera and call yourself a photographer, but true professional photography requires a blend of high-level technical expertise and artistic ability. More than that, she want to show that women are equally talented as well as encourage photographers to earn a certification and degree.
